Free Speech in Ireland is under attack!
The Minister for Justice and Equality Charlie Flanagan TD , is reviewing Ireland’s law on criminal hate speech. The existing law, the Prohibition of Incitement to Hatred Act 1989, is being revised and updated in what they claim is to ensure it meets the needs of a modern, democratic society.
Ireland does not need any hate speech laws, existing laws are sufficient enough, These proposed changes are an attack on our democratic freedoms.
Over recent weeks the Government has ramped up their attempt to demonize those who speak out against their policies and agenda, the words racist and homophobic are used. Current laws protect everyone in society from racist and homophobic abuse, do not let their lies fool you into accepting this terrible legislation.
